#8 Caelan Day

#8 QB Caelan Day led the Titans to a 14-12 victory in their game last week.  They were down 0-12 at the beginning of the fourth quarter when Caelan led his team to a come from behind victory, throwing 2 amazing TD passes and also completing 2 passes on extra point tries.  Congratulations Caelan!

Zach Gregory had a strong showing at the Steve Clarkson Dream Maker Tour in Dallas on March 6th.  Other Texas QB players in attendance were Keithen Lewis (4th), Jacob Evans (4th), Max Partlo (8th), Mike Baxter (11th), Nathan Shelton (6th), and Kory Sparks (5th).  Zach and Keithen were both asked to stay after the camp for interviews.

Aaron Gonzales

Aaron Gonzales had a good season leading the Coppell Freshman football team to 4 victories.  He threw for several touchdowns and took care of the football, only throwing a couple interceptions.  Congratulations Aaron!

Ryan Zambie

Ryan Zambie’s team is 7-2 and are in the 3rd grade Super Bowl this weekend.  He has 15 rushing touchdowns and has passed for another.  Good luck to Ryan this weekend in the Super Bowl!

2009 Player Highlights

  • 6/13- Sherman (transfer from Callisburg) quarterback Thor Long listed among the Top 100 Juniors in the state of Texas according to the Texas Football Magazine.
  • 6/13- Quarterback Matt Preston led Abilene Wylie to the finals in the Abilene 7-on-7 state qualifier tournament.  This qualified them for the state tournament in College Station.

    2008 Player Highlights

  • 12/16- Congratulations to Sophomore Thor Long who was named Honorable Mention 2A All-State and MVP of District 10-2A.  Thor finished his sophomore season with 2,979 passing yards, 30 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns, and only 8 interceptions.
  • 11/29- Thor Long and the Callisburg Wildcats ended their season with a loss to Grandview in the third round of the playoffs.  Congratulations to Thor and the Wildcats for a great season.
  • 11/29- Matt Preston and the Abilene Wylie extended their season with a victory over the China Spring Cougars.  They will play Prosper at 6pm on Saturday, December 6 in Mansfield.
  • 11/21- Thor Long led the Callisburg Wildcats to another playoff victory.  He went 10 for 14 with 222 yards and four touchdowns through the air in a second round victory over De Kalb.  Good luck to Thor and the Wildcats as they take on Grandview on Saturday, November 29 at 2:00 pm in Saginaw.
  • 11/21- Quarterback Matt Preston and the Abilene Wylie Bulldogs will take on the China Spring Cougars and OC Shawn Bell’s high scoring offense on Friday, November 28 in Aledo.
  • 11/14- Sophomore quarterback Thor Long of Callisburg threw for over 300 yards for the fourth time this season to lead the Wildcats to a victory over previously undefeated Paradise and advance to the second round of the playoffs.
  • 11/12- Matt Repass will lead undefeated Camden Military school into the CISA championship on Saturday, November 15.
  • 11/8- The Nocona Indians ended a winning 6-4 season on a good note, with a 21-7 victory over Henrietta.
  • 10/24- Lehigh Tonga went 7 for 10 with 158 yards passing and rushed 14 times for 78 yards to lead the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders to an impressive 45-17 victory over Keller.  L.D. Bell was named “Team of the Week” by 5ATexasFootball.com. 
  • 10/23- Matt Repass has led Camden Military school to an undefeated record.  In one game against a North Carolina perennial private school power, he went 10 for 13 with 3 TD’s and no INT’s.
  • 10/23- Dusty Dryden had another good game with 6 runs for 53 yards, going 5 for 5 passing for 90 yards and 1 TD.  They won 48-0 over Griffin MS. 
  • 10/16- Dusty Dryden had a great comeback last night from a knee injury.  He was released by the doctor to play last Friday and thought he would see limited action, but played the full game on defense and from the 2nd quarter on at quarterback.  He led his team to a 36 to 14 victory.
  • 10/13- Calvin New has fully recovered from his broken leg and is playing great for Dallas Christian’s JV team.  He scored a touchdown on his first play back from injury, two days after the doctor released him to run.  He has been playing quarterback, running back, and receiver.
  • 10/13- Sophomore James Mauro was moved up to the varsity at L.D. Bell and his brother Josh committed to Stanford as a DE on October 12. 
  • 10/13- 3rd grader Bobby Dodson has scored 2 touchdowns his first 3 games to help his team to a 2-1 record.
  • 10/10- The L.D. Bell football team, led by quarterback Lehi Tonga, lost their first game of the season, but still stand at 5-1.  The L.D. Bell Junior Varsity team, led by James Mauro and Matt Simmons, is 6-0 and the Sophomore team is 5-0 behind Trevor Carruth.
  • 10/10- First Baptist Academy  receivers Caleb Lavallais, Zach Gregory, and Jake Valdez rank 7th, 12th, and 13th respectively among area private schools for receiving yards.
  • 10/10- The Nocona Indians improved to 5-1 after a 47-7 victory over City View.
  • 10/10- Hayden Howard led Watauga Harvest Christian to their first district win since 2005, a victory over Amarillo Arbor Academy.
  • 10/10- Thor Long threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns to lead Callisburg to a district win over Aubrey.
  • 10/8- After 5 games, Garrett Hale has thrown 16 touchdown passes and run for 2 touchdowns.  Dawson 7th grade A team is 5-0.  They beat the other Southlake team, Carroll Middle 28-26.  Garrett threw 1 touchdown pass and threw two 2 point conversions; the last one being the game winner. 
  • 9/26- Callisburg’s Thor Long threw for 260 yards and 6 touchdowns in a victory over Watauga Harvest Christian, led by Texas QB quarterback Hayden Howard.
  • 9/23- The Nocona indians are 4-0, scoring 140 points in 4 games behind quarterback Remy Stewart.
  • 9/21- Freshman Jake Hornberger has started in Dallas Covenant’s three JV games and has thrown for 12 touchdowns and run for 2 touchdowns.
  • 9/19- The Nocona Indians, behind quarterback Remy Stewart and running back Dino Jones, defeated the Callisburg Wildcats 28-14, despite quarterback Thor Long’s 240 yards passing.
  • 9/19- Dusty Dryden was one of only 20 players to make the A team for Arbor Creek Middle School out of about 85 players trying out.  He threw a touchdown pass in his first game, which was a 36-6 victory.
  • 9/19- Braden Frazier was 21 for 27 with 258 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.  He ran for 64 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 46-13 win.
  • 9/19- Hurst L.D. Bell quarterback Lehigh Tonga was 13 for 20 with 221 yards and 1 touchdown, and he ran for 145 yards and 1 touchdown in L.D. Bell’s victory over Grand Prairie.
  • 9/19- The Chico Dragons went to 2-2 after a 45-25 win over City View.
  • 9/18- 7th grader Max Partlo has thrown two passes this season, leading Greenhill to a 2-0 record.
  • 9/18- Freshman Matthew Milburn is the starting quarterback on the Freshman B Team at Highland Park.  They are 2-1.
  • 9/16- 7th grader Pierce Weiss is the starting quarterback for the Highland Park Middle School B team.  He ran for 3 touchdowns in a 32-0 victory.
  • 9/12- Sophomore Thor Long went 22 for 30 with 4 touchdown passes and ran for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns in Callisburg’s victory over Whitewright.
  • 9/11- 8th grader Torey Long went 6 for 7 with 5 touchdown passes in a 55-7 victory.
  • 9/8- Jesse Drummer beat out 20 other players going for the quarterback position at Pike Middle School and was named starting quarterback.
  • 9/5- Senior Braden Frazier threw for 465 yards, 7 touchdowns, and ran for another in First Baptist Academy’s victory over Colleyville Covenant.
  • 9/5- Hurst L.D. Bell Senior quarterbacks Lehi Tonga and Logan Smith combined for 288 passing yards and 4 touchdowns in the 35-33 victory over Haltom.
  • 9/5- Matt Preston threw for 300 yards in Abilene Wylie’s game against Liberty Hill.
  • 9/5- The Nocona Indians had 465 yards total offense in their 44-0 victory over Muenster.
  • 9/5- The Chico Dragons defeated Valley View 14-7 to break the school’s losing streak that dated back to the 2006 season.
  • 9/3- 7th Grader, Garrett Hale, was named the starting A Team quarterback at Dawson Middle School in Southlake, one of two middle schools leading into Carroll Senior High.  In the first game, Garrett threw 3 touchdowns in a 30-6 win over Grapevine Middle School A Team.
  • 8/29- In his varsity debut, sophomore quarterback Thor Long was 16 for 26 passing with 341 yards and 3 touchdowns in Callisburg’s victory over Bonham.
  • 8/29- Junior Matt Preston threw a touchdown pass to lead Abilene Wylie to a victory over Vernon in his first career start.
  • 8/29- The Nocona Indians opened up the season with a 33-8 victory over Valley View. Texas QB ran a custom camp with 20 Nocona High School football players this summer.
  • Summer 2008- Sophomore Zach Gregory was named MVP Quarterback for 9-10th grade at the Houston Nutt Ole Miss Football Camp this summer.
